Lisbon Half Day Tour - Option 1: Classic Lisbon

We meet near Starbucks at Rossio Train Station and begin our journey through Lisbon’s historic heart. We start at Rossio Square before visiting the Igreja de São Domingos, a church marked by dramatic history and one of the most significant sites connected to Lisbon’s Jewish past.

We continue along Rua Augusta to the Arco do Triunfo and the iconic Praça do Comércio, where the riverfront opens into one of the city’s grandest squares.

From there, we make our way to the Miradouro de Santa Luzia for postcard‑perfect views of Alfama, then visit Lisbon Cathedral, the city’s oldest church. As we walk through Alfama’s narrow streets, we explore meaningful locations tied to its history.

Our walk leads us to Carmo Square, home to the dramatic ruins of the Carmo Convent — a powerful reminder of the 1755 earthquake. Right after visiting the square, we reach one of Lisbon’s most impressive hidden gems: the upper viewpoint of the Santa Justa Lift. This panoramic terrace offers sweeping views over Baixa, Rossio, the Tagus River, and the castle rising above the city.

From here, we continue with a short walk to the nearby Church of São Roque, one of the earliest Jesuit churches in the world. Inside, we discover richly decorated Baroque chapels, including the Chapel of St. John the Baptist — a masterpiece crafted in Rome and assembled in Lisbon like a jewel box.

Finally, we descend back toward the city center and return to Rossio Square, where our journey began.
